The last thing you need is inconvenience or uncertainty when you come to see your lawyer. For this reason I prefer to travel to you, and meet with you wherever is comfortable for you.
I also strive to answer all of your questions and present your options to you frankly and honestly.
Having a lawyer who can answer your questions and help you understand your options can help you get through difficult times with a minimum of trouble.
Making Family Law Go Smoothly
We can discuss a number of areas when we meet, including:
- Matrimonial breakdown: Separation and divorce are difficult for everyone involved. I will guide you through disputes involving your separation, including property division, children, and support for spouses and children. We will try to find amicable solutions, but be prepared to go to court if necessary to protect your rights.
- Child protection: Many of my clients are involved in disputes with various Children's Aid Societies throughout Ontario. It can be a confusing, frightening, time, especially if there is a real risk of losing your children even temporarily.
- Family law agreements: These include separation agreements drafted at the end of a relationship, as well as marriage contracts or cohabitation agreements created at the beginning. Marriage contracts and cohabitation agreements have been common in the past for couples who have considerable wealth, unusual property, or children or financial obligations from a previous relationship. They are now becoming more common for couples who simply feel they would like to make decisions about support, property division, and other matters while they are in a positive frame of mind, rather than in the middle of a nasty separation.
You deserve efficient, professional, legal services with a lawyer you will feel comfortable speaking to. For your convenience, I will travel anywhere within the Durham Region to meet with you at no extra cost, including at your home.
